There Is No Excuse For A Boring Blog

Once upon a time, there were 966 million websites locked in a battle to the death, each one fighting for the same trophy; a Chicago Bulls jersey signed by Michael Jordan and the undivided attention of as many Internet users as possible.

As you can probably imagine, winning this war is no easy feat.

In 1994, the number of active websites was just 3,000. Today, it is over 1 billion. That's an increase of 3.3 million percent in just over 20 years (a rate of inflation that is second only to the house prices in Brixton & Shoreditch). The reason we're telling you this is to highlight just how much competition your website faces. It doesn't matter how you look at it - through squinted eyes, standing on your head or while you're super-dozy because you just dropped nine Valium - 966 million-plus websites is a crazy amount of white noise to overcome. 966 million-plus websites is a serious crowd to stand out from.

Of course, a great way to boost your chances of victory is through the glorious medium of a blog (don't believe us, then a) Google 'reasons to have a blog' b) read this article by the Huffington Post and c) look at these 13 kickass facts about business blogging). Here's the kicker, though: there is no excuse for a boring blog. There is just too much content out there to let yours be boring. It's like letting your kid become the smelly kid in class; it's unacceptable.

The entire internet - every webpage, YouTube video, advertisement, article and infographic - is made up of content. It is all content. What you need to do is ensure yours surpasses that of your competitors, which means knowing exactly who your target audience is and then delivery them something creative, engaging, passionate, empathetic, unique, innovative, relatable and/or funny - especially your blogs.

It doesn't matter whether your business falls within the bell curve of "boring", your blog shouldn't be. It doesn't matter whether you have a parenting blog, a lifestyle brand, a construction company or a lawn care business - there is not excuse for a boring blog, as you are about to see from a collection of our recent efforts:
